As Okita pointed out, I think it is true that Hijikata had complicated emotion to Kano. feeling でも良いですが少し弱いかも。いずれにせよその後の前置詞は for ではなくto。 Hijikata's performance by cutting the cherry tree (branch?) must be an implication of his breakup from the emotion to Kano as well as hidden affection to Kondo. 構成を変えました。まず切ったのはcherry blossomではなく桜の木、または枝ですよね?それを切ることで感情、愛情を捨て去ると言うのが直接的にはわかりにくいので、implication 暗示、含意、としました。
