質問

　前の文の続きですから Alex です。

　はいそうです。フランス窓は床までありますからガラスのドアみたいな感じなので「私の側の」とも。

insteadのところの訳、よくわかりました。foolish fixationも意味が取りにくかったのですが、「愚かな釘付け」という言葉で訳されていて、なるほどと思いました。
her precisionの意味の取り方も解説がわかりやすかったです。

すでに優れた回答がついていますが、私も解釈してみますね。
Jamieの最初の言葉の中のhe は他の方も回答されているようにAlexでしょう。JamieはAlexの事を、Alexでは無い誰か他の人（Anna?)に言っているセリフで、ここでのheはAlex以外考えにくいと思います。

next to me は、直訳的には「隣に」ですが日本語的には横並びに聞こえます。すると、見つめると言う行為と合わないので、ここでは「間近に」と言う感じかと思います。

instead のところ、

→ Jamieの声を私の頭から追い払い、かわりに（instead) この壊れた窓ガラスに集中する。
副詞としてinsteadは文のどこにでもおけますが、日本語的にはconcentrateの前にあったほうがわかりやすいでしょうね。この文では、and concentrateと言った後で挿入的にinstedを追加しているような形と思います。
