ジョーンズは"forgotten history of civil rights" からthe March on Washingtonの本来の姿を私たちに思い出させようとしている。それゆえ、題名でもあるThe March on Washington、それ自体に関する記述が少し少ないと感じました。しかし、行進から50年経った今、その行進の歴史的背景を知ることで、それの本来の姿を私たちが思い出すことができるのも事実である。

This may be the reason why[*3] I felt, contrary to[*4] what its title suggested, the book was short of[*5] fully describing the march itself. However, considering that 50 years has passed since the march took place, it is a fact that knowing the march's historical background enables us to understand the nature of the march in its true colors.
