Forced Interrogation: Can Police Repeat the Same Question?

  • In a non-emergency scenario, can the police repeatedly ask the same question during interrogations after a suspect has invoked their right to remain silent, without violating that right?
  • The legality of police repeating the same question during interrogations after a suspect has pleaded the right to remain silent is a matter of debate.
  • While it may not be a clear violation of the suspect's right to remain silent, it raises concerns about coercion and the fairness of the interrogation process.

>In a case that is not a ticking time bomb scenario (terrorist, hostage related, etc.), can the police during interrogations ask the exact same question over repetitively after a suspect has plead the right to remain silent, without violating the suspect's right to remain silent?

Thanks - just perfect. I say that however I like "一刻を争うような事件" a bit better than 時限爆弾のシナリオ even though your translation is perfect. One thing that really sucks about this site is the 'best answer' silly button. I hate it because in lot of cases like this I think both answers are good... also being a foreigner I really don't know 100%. It's kind of not fair because I can't ensure to be correct. Just know that if for some reason I didn't select 'best answer' it means NOTHING - that's because your answers are always the best. I hope you know that.
