こんにちは。 私は小学生のときに、友達に自分の説明を理解してもらえなかった経験があります。 Once, in my elementary school days, there was a time when a friend couldn't understand what I was trying to explain. 私は友達に算数を教えていました。 She wasn't good at arithmetic, so I was tutoring her (in arithmetic). 彼女は算数がとても苦手でした。 そこで私は彼女に算数を教えていました。 私なりに一生懸命説明しましたが、彼女はなかなか理解して貰えませんでした。 I did my best to explain, but she just couldn't seem to understand. 困った挙げ句、私と友達は職員室に行きました。 Not knowing what else to do, the two of us went to the teachers' staff room. 友達は先生の丁寧な説明で分からないところを理解しました。 The teacher explained carefully, and my friend understood (what she hadn't been able to understand before). 私は自分の教えかたはまだまだ未熟であったと理解しました。(ここの訳は分かりませんでした…) I realized (that) I had a lot to learn about tutoring. 学校の先生は本当に教えかたが上手だなと尊敬しました。 I respected the teacher's (excellent) ability to teach. 人に何かを教えることは簡単ではないことをとても実感しました。 I felt deeply that it isn't easy to instruct other people. ご参考までに。

When I was an elementary school student, there was a time when my friend didn't understand what I explained. I was teaching her a part of our homework. She was very poor at arithmetic. So I taught her arithmetic. I tried to explain the part as hard as I could, but she didn't understand. After having a lot of trouble over the explanation, she and I went to the teachers' room (あるいはthe fuculty room). She understood the part she had not understood thanks to the careful explanation of the teacher. I realized that I was not good at teaching after all. I came to know that school teachers are really good at teaching and I do respect them for that. The teacher of the school thought that teaching was really good. I learned that it was very difficult to teach a person something. 以上で如何でしょうか。
