質問

日本語を勉強している外国人です。英語で答えを出来る人がいたらお願いします。日本語の言語学の先生とか専攻の人がいますか？

＊今日授業中に突然、気分が悪くなったけれど　食べたらまた大丈夫です。　　While I was in a class today, my body felt weak in sudden.But after I ate , I feel fine again.

My Japanese friend corrected お昼を食べたら気分がまた良くなりました。（ or 気分が良くなりました）

So, why can't I use " また大丈夫”？ Grammatically, there should be nothing wrong with it from my understanding and I googled また大丈夫
and saw it used in many journals by native japanese people.
Really all it means is "once again fine", it's just an adverb modifying the "daijoubu".
I just honestly don't understand what is grammatically incorrect, aside from maybe it just sounds awkward to you because you wouldn't use it.

No I did not say that. I said No 1 is grammatically acceptable.

Yes, I think that is what he is trying to say.

I still think it is fine. This area is not black and white(=use and non-use). No language is a simple monolith. it has many many shades of gray. You may have tea-ceremony teachers or stuffy senior citizens as your teachers/friends. Their opinion might be non-representative. At least you learned not to use No.1 in their earshot.

If you are in Japan use plural teachers/informants and study the differences among them. Do not rely on one or two people's verdicts. Natives are better than (text)books and internet sites, but use their ex-cathedra pronouncements with several grains of salt.

I wonder if you are confusing また(mata) with まだ(mada).
You say you saw the phrase また大丈夫 used in journals etc.,
but it sounds awkward to me (and I'm a native Japanese speaker).
We often use the phrase まだ大丈夫, which means "still ok".

I don't think the phrase また大丈夫 is grammatically incorrect,
as you can say まだ大丈夫(still ok) or もう大丈夫（already ok）.
All these words (again, still, already) are adverbs,
so grammatically all these sentenses are the same.

I guess the problem with the phrase また大丈夫 is that
the word また（again）implies that someone DID something once
more, while 大丈夫 refers to someone's STATE. You can say
「私は大丈夫です」、but you cannot say 「大丈夫になる」.

I'm not a Japanese teacher, so I'm afraid that I cannot give you
a clear-cut explanation. Hope I didn't confuse you with my answer.

I am going to put these sentences side by side

1. 今日授業中に突然、気分が悪くなったけれど　食べたらまた大丈夫です。

2. 今日授業中に突然、気分が悪くなったけれど(お昼を)食べたら気分がまた良くなりました。

I do not think the difference is one of grammar, or 2 is grammatically correct while 1 is not. I think both are grammatically acceptable.

So I am trying to understand why your friend said 1 isn't "grammatical" but 2 is. My view is 大丈夫 is a bit colloquial and often used by children or people not in a native adult situation.

So 1 might be questionable in a social occasion (you know there are plenty of these in Japan) even though it is quite all right talking to a kid in a park.

When in doubt, you should remember that you have a marvelous excuse for butchering the language, you are a foreigner. (I live in an English-speaking country and enjoy the similar privilege and make full use of it.)

So, you said No 1 (mata daijyoubu ) is grammatically wrong. Most of my Japanese friends also says it's grammatically wrong so now I am sure I did make a mistake.

I wondered if my friend's changes were "beautification" changes - i.e. the way it was said wasn't wrong, but it wasn't how you would say it so you think it should be changed. (for example, you felt that mata daijoubu datta was entirely fine/grammatically correct/understandable.)
I thought my friend changed it to have my sentence " BETTER " despite my original sentence ( daijyoubu datta) is grammatically correct or understable.

So what I want to know is that

1. Should I not to use daijyoubu datta ? Since it's not grammatically wrong, native japanese ppl would think I am making stupid mistake?

2. My friends says "mata daijyoubu" isn't acceptable and doesn't make sense....
