profit center（プロフィットセンター）という語の使い方

質問

「それぞれの部署がプロフィットセンター意識を持ち、適度な緊張感を持つ」と、言いたいのですが、プロフィットセンターの使い方がわかりません。

profit center orientedぐらいかと思います。
Each section keeps profit center...みたいに、部署が主語になれるでしょうか？

あと、適度な緊張感を持つは、
keep a sense of tension
で良いでしょうか？

motivated
（形）意欲・自主性・モチベーションのある、積極的な
self-motivatedまたはself motivated
（形）自主的な、積極的な
become a self-motivated profit center
自主的なプロフィットセンターになる
自主的にプロフィットセンターとなる

適度な緊張感を持つ：

tension
は基本的に、ナーバスな状態（かえって勤労意欲、能率などは低い）を意味するマイナスイメージの言葉なので避けるほうがよいと思います。

緊張感＝士気、やる気、と考えて
morale
（語尾のeを落とすとmoral（道徳）になるので、自戒の意味でスペル確認）

the staff morale
スタッフの士気
keep the staff morale always high
スタッフの士気を常に（高く）保つ
