という文章を見つけました。
Your computer will go faster the more you have. の部分がいまいち理解できません。
Your computer will go faster than you don't(or it doesn't)なら理解できるんですが。
the more　という使い方は一般的でしょうか？もしそうであれば、いくつか例文頂けたらうれしく思います。

the+比較級, the+比較級「～すればするほど…」の構文は通常、
The higher you climb, the colder it becomes. （高く登れば登るほど寒くなる）
というように、従節が前半で、主節が後半になりますが、この順序が逆になることもあります。その場合は下記の例のように主節のtheが省略されることが多いそうです。
It becomes (the) colder the higher you climb.
（the は形容詞や副詞を修飾しているので、名詞につく本来の定冠詞の用法とは異なって副詞と考えられています。）

the more の後に「memory」を入れて「have」の代わりに「install」(組み込む)や「add」(増加する)を入れてみれば意味がはっきりしますね。　でもこれでは長たらしい(冗長になる)ので、英文ではこれを「have」だけで済ましてしまいますし、こちらが英語らしくなります。例文としては、、、、質問文をちょこっと拝借して、

「the less」 の後には「programs」が省略さてています。

尚、この「the more」は、下記例文を基本として、少しばかり加工しておりますよね。

「go faster」 vs 「the more」ですが、「go the faster」とは文法上出来ませんので、一寸基本からずれています。

RAMメモリのサイズも重要です。RAMのサイズが大きければ、それだけコンピュータは高速に動作します。最低1ギガのラムメモリを搭載をお勧めします。

Your computer will go faster, the more you have RAM memories.ということです。

The cheaper, the better.
安ければ安いほど良い

というのが定番です。
