下記文章の構造が良くわかりませんので、解説していただけませんか。
But neither insects, the lack of light nor the intense humidity deter these scientists. They are looking for monkeys.

一応前後の文章も含めて下記の通りに訳してみました。

It's 6 o'clock in the morning, and light barely filters through the canopy of this tropical rainforest on Barro Colorado Island in Panama. But neither insects, the lack of light nor the intense humidity deter these scientists. They are looking for monkeys.

朝6時、光はかろうじて、Barro Colorado島の林冠の間から通ってくる。しかしながら、昆虫も、薄暗さも、湿気もこの科学者達を思いとどまらせることはできない。彼らは、サルを探しているのだ。

But neither [insects, the lack of light] nor [the intense humidity] deter these scientists.

But neither A nor B deter these scientists. という構造です。neither A nor B という形で、「A でも B でもない」 という意味を表しています。

　「しかし、（毒のある） 虫も、乏しい光も、ひどい湿気も、その科学者たちを思いとどまらせることはない」

either A or B で「A か B のいずれか一方」
neither A nor B で「A も B もいずれもない」
が普通ですが，
either A, B or C「A か B か C のいずれか」
neither A, B nor C で「A でも B でも C でもない」
という３者についても用いることがあります。

A：insects,
B：the lack of light
nor
C：the intense humidity
と S となり，
deter these scientists で VO です。

ということで，おっしゃる通りの意味でいいと思います。
