イギリスでは一年のうち季節ごとに異なるスポーツをするということを知った。とても興味深いことである。イギリス人は日本人とは違い、多くのスポーツを経験することができる。イギリスはサッカー、ラグビー、ゴルフをはじめ、あらゆるスポーツを生み出し、世に送り出してきた。だから当然イギリス人はスポーツに打ち込む人々が多いのだ。日本人はスポーツが好きな人が多いが、学校の授業ではそんなに多くの種類のスポーツを経験することはできない。そのため日本人はイギリス人に比べ、スポーツに触れる機会が少ない。

I found that people play different sports in every season of the year in the U.K. It is very interesting. The British, unlike the Japanese, can experience many kinds of sports. The U.K. has invented various kinds of sports such as soccer, rugby and golf, and has introduced them to the world. Therefore naturally in Britain there are a lot of people who devote themselves to sports. Japan has also many people who like sports, but they cannot go in for so many kinds of sports in physical education classes at school. That is why Japanese people have fewer opportunities to enjoy various kinds of sports than British people.

In Japan, if you are an athlete in school, you are expected to play one type of sport the whole year, whether it is baseball, volleyball, or soccer.

I found out that, in England, they get to play different sports in different seasons. That is very interesting to me. British students, unlike us Japanese students, are fortunate enough to play many types or sports in school. Numerous sports originated from England, such as soccer, rugby, and golf. It's no wonder a lot of British people apply themselves to sports. Many Japanese people love sports, but they do not have much opportunity to experience different types of sports. That is why Japanese people have less opportunity to experience as many sports as British people do.

I have found out that people in Britain do different sports in different seasons. It is very interesting. Unlike Japanese, British people can play a lot of sports. The British invented a variety of sports such as football,rugby and golf and introduced them to the world. That is why in Britain there are a great many people involved in sports. On the other hand, Japanese people may love sports, but they cannot experience as many sports during a gymnastics class, which gives Japanese less opportunity to play sports than the British.
