　picked him up from several doors down the streetの意味を教えてください。　pick up は、下記のように「（車で）拾う」ことです。　https://eow.alc.co.jp/search?q=pick+up 　（彼女は、直接家に来ないで）同じ道路の数軒離れたところで彼（＝彼女の実父）を拾う、という意味だと思います。
