現に、飲料用などで淡水が必要とされる場所の近くに、河川などの淡水源がなく、気候の関係で雨を利用することも難しい場合、もしその場所が海辺であれば海水を処理して淡水を利用することが行われています。このプロセスのことを海水淡水化を呼びます。

海水の淡水化について日本ではあまり知られていませんが、水不足が続く地域では常に深刻な問題として捉えられています。特に中東などの地域では、日本のように技術も発達していません。先進国が協力して、効率よく淡水を作る技術を開発すると、より多くの人が快適な生活をすることができるでしょう。

If a place is the beach when it is also difficult for there to be no sources of fresh water, such as a river, near the place for which fresh water is needed by the object for drinks, etc., and to use rain due to climate, processing sea water and using fresh water is performed.
Desalinization of sea water is called for this process.
Although seldom known about freshening of sea water in Japan, in the area where a water shortage continues, it is regarded as an always serious problem.
Technology is not developed like Japan in the Middle East, either.
If the technology which advanced nations cooperate and makes fresh water efficiently is developed, he will be able to live a life with more comfortable people.
