Well, I finally got my new car and I love it.
I have attached a picture for you to see. It is a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX. I understand there
is a new body style in the Japan market,
but it is not being sold in the US yet. I had some modifications done:
OZ 18" racing wheels, Sumitomo low profile tires, Turbo SX downpipe and muffler, Whiteline springs (which lower the car 1"), Whiteline
25mm adjustable rear anti-sway bar, turbo boost gauge, K&N Air Filter, cold air intake, and Turbo SX manual turbo boost controller.
Although I haven't put it on a dyno they say from other cars with similar equipment it should be up from the stock 227HP to about
260HP. I wish it were an STi, but they don't sell that model in the US. Most of the after-market modifications are imported from
Australia. The Australians have been importing the WRX much longer than the US, so they have developed a big industry in high
performance parts for Subarus. When I retire I would like to use the WRX for Rally racing.
I considered buying a Toyota Prius, but I just had to have one more fast car before I get too old
to drive one. Good luck and I hope to hear from you soon.
