All four battalions crossed two trench lines, except for a short delay at the south end of Longueval, where the Germans were also rolled up from the flank. The infantry kept going and the support battalions arrived to consolidate.

右側面で、第26、第27旅団は２条の鉄条網を手動で切断しながら渡った。第10アーガイル隊(*)は左側面の中隊がドイツ軍守備を突破して集まってくるまで待機した。
４個大隊の全てが、ロンジバルの南で少し遅れが出たのを除くと２本の塹壕線を渡った。そこではドイツ軍が側面から再び集結していた。歩兵は前進を続け支援大隊が集結のため到着した。

(*)複数形なので部隊としましたが、10世アーガイル公の部隊、かもしれません。
