Kanzashi is a traditional Japanese hair ornament and is used by women in Kimono, particularly by Geisha (traditional, female Japanese entertainers) or on special occasions by brides. Items or animals that are said to bring good luck such as flowers and cranes are engraved on Kanzashi. **The material is tortoiseshell. It was hand-made by an artisan in the old times, so it would look beautiful as an interior decoration as well – for example, you could put it in a vase or up on the wall.
