Oracle VM Virtualboxについて

質問

Oracle VM VirtualboxのExtension packがインストール出来ません。
管理者権限でインストールしても

機能拡張パッケージ"ファイルパス"のインストールに失敗しました。
The installer failed with exit code 1: .

終了コード：E_FAIL (0x80004005)
コンポーネント：ExtPackManager
インタフェース：IExtPackManager ｛3295e6ce-b051-47b2-9514-2c588bfe7554｝

と表示されてしまい、インストール出来ません。
ネットで調べてhttp://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/beachinside/archive/2012/3/20を見てやってみましたが、

VBoxManage.exe: error: The installer failed with exit code 1:
VBoxManage.exe: error: Details: code E_FAIL (0x80004005), component ExtPackManager, "Cleanup()" at line 1148 of file VBoxManageMisc.cpp

と表示されて、再度エクステンションパックをインストールしようとしても出来ません。
エクステンションパックをインストールできるようにはならないでしょうか。わかる方は教えてください。お願いします。

OS:Windows7 Home Premium 64bit
機種:SONY VAIO
Virtual Boxとエクステンションパックのバージョン:4.1.18

viutalbox。。ちょっと曲者ですね。
暫定対策なのですが、バーチャルマシンにVMWarePlayerを利用してみれば如何でしょう。
VBoxよりもVMWareの方が先発です。以前はPlayerではイメージが作成できなかったのですが、
現在はPlayerだけでイメージが作成できます。

VirtualBox 4.1.18 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack All platforms
Support for USB 2.0 devices, VirtualBox RDP and PXE boot for Intel cards. See this chapter from the User Manual for an introduction to this Extension Pack. The Extension Pack binaries are released under the VirtualBox Personal Use and Evaluation License (PUEL).
Please install the extension pack with the same version as your installed version of VirtualBox!
If you are using VirtualBox 4.0.16, please download the extension pack
